Bayou’s first product is an instant and reliable utility API.
Built for developers and product teams, the API can deliver production-ready data in less than ten minutes.
For those wanting to explore no-code utility data access without calling the API, however, follow the workflow below to start gathering bills and intervals today.
1. Set a Notification Email
In Bayou’s dashboard, open Settings › Customer Data.
Enter the address where you want alerts sent.
As soon as a customer links an account, Bayou emails this inbox with a one-click shortcut to the data.
2. Create Customers
You have two options:
- Bulk link customers: On the Customers page, hit Copy Onboarding Link. Paste the link anywhere you collect leads. Every click spins up a fresh customer record automatically.
- One-off customer: Select Create a Customer and fill in the form. All you need is an email. Leave the utility blank if you want the customer to pick it later.
3. Share the Onboarding Link
From any customer record, press Copy Onboarding Link again and send it to the homeowner or whoever has access to the desired utility account.
There they can enter the same email, choose their utility, and approve read-only access on a branded permission screen powered by the utility API.
4. Wait for the Utility API to Sync
When the utility finishes, Bayou emails your notification address.
Click View data here in the message to jump straight to the customer’s page inside the dashboard. Now it’s time to view or export data.
5. View or Export Bills
The customer record lists every billing period the utility API retrieved.
- Customer tab called “Data” shows account details.
- Click into a customer to find Bills. This tab holds meter reads, charges, and usage. If you need field definitions, check the API reference.
Select Export Excel File to download an .xlsx named after the customer’s email.
With this simple no-code workflow, Bayou’s dashboard replaces phone calls and PDF uploads with instant, structured data.
Your team spends less time chasing bills and more time delivering clean-energy upgrades, all without writing a single line of code.
